Remember: The speed limit is the absolute maximum speed you are permitted to travel at, but this does not mean it is safe to drive at that speed irrespective of the driving conditions. Driving at speeds too fast for the road and traffic conditions can be very dangerous.
Always reduce your speed when:
- The road layout or conditions present hazards, such as bends or uneven road surfaces.
- Sharing the road with pedestrians and cyclists, particularly children and motorcyclists.
- Driving in difficult weather.
- Driving at night.
Speeding is a criminal offence and if caught you could face a high fine or even a driving disqualification..
